Home Away From Home Child Care Center was started in 1996 when Ann Bouwhuis saw a need for quality childcare in the Maplewood area. She felt that it was important for parents to be able to leave their children in a small homelike environment with qualified employees who truly love children. We are proud to say we have a higher than average staff retention rate with several staff staying with HAFH for over 4 years. Research shows consistent, loving staff is vital to children feeling secure. Over the past twenty years Home Away From Home has been recipient of many development grants to help them grow in to a terrific center. One of Home Away From Home’s major goals is to be considered an extension of the family, and in past years have had families come back with second and third children.
